Creation of accessible PDF documents
Members of the foundation «Access for all» (Zugang für alle), with disabilities and without, reliably create accessible PDF documents of high quality.
Supported languages are German, French, Italian, Raetho-Romanic and English (more on request).
Example documents: annual reports, company reports, Brochures, studies or sales bulletins, etc.
Action and Procedure:
Send us your existing PDF document file you want to have accessible and we will:
- add correct tags to all text elements
- allocate structurally correct headings 1-6
- mark each paragraph as single paragraph
- mark listings as (interlaced) lists
- define table headers for your data table
- identify the documents correct reading sequence
- add alternative texts to charts and images accoring to your desires
- move layout graphics as well as headers and footers to the background
- assign the correct language to the document
- define language changes within the document
- add bookmarks for easier navigation
- define security settings such that they don't block assistive technologies
- add field labels to form fields
- define internal and external references (clickable links and indexes)
- add correct assignments of foot notes
- enable reading by means of text flow
- eventually, the accessible document is put to a series of quality checks, performed by sighted and blind experts
The result - checked quality
You obtain an accessible PDF document, meeting the applicable guidelines P028 and WCAG 2.0. Prior to hand-over, all documents are checked visually, technically and practically by blind and visually impaired experts using screenreaders. The documents won't show any errors applying automatic accessibility check tools such as Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and PDF Accessibility Checker (PAC).
